Postoperative

After the intervention you will be given all the necessary instructions to hasten your recovery time, enabling you to return to your everyday activities as soon as possible. You will be given the direct telephone number of Dr. Sáez, available 24 hours a day, should you need to resolve any questions or incidents.

Treatment

During the postoperative period analgesic measures are used to reduce pain so that you only feel the minimal of discomfort, especially during the first week.


It is advisable to return to your everyday activities as soon as possible. For some interventions, the only limitation you will find would be loading weight and practicing sport activities.


You will have regular follow-up appointments with Dr Sáez until the definitive results are achieved.


At our outpatient’s clinic all the complementary treatments needed are included in the procedures that we perform. After the operation you will be given a postoperative care program, which includes procedures such as massages and the application of healing products, everything carried out by our specialists. These complementary therapies minimize swelling and avoid fibrotic areas which could lead to inflammatory reactions and increased pain.


These procedures include manual lymphatic drainage and treatment with radiofrequency (INDIBA Deep Care ®).

Lymphatic Drainage

The manual lymphatic drainage is the manual activation by means of a massage of the lymphatic circulation.

The manual lymphatic drainage helps to absorb the excess of fluid (edema) improving the healing process and hastening the recovery period.

The manual lymphatic drainage is performed with the therapist’s hands, not with machines nor devices. It is very effective by itself, but better results are obtained when combined with other treatments such as radiofrequency (Deep INDIBA Care ®) improving significantly the final results.

Liposuction:
After liposuction or liposculpture procedures, where edema is easily found, performing manual lymph drainage is vital for the reabsorption of swelling and optimization results. Its correct application reduces the total recovery time by several weeks.

Tummy tuck:
This intervention is by far is the one that alters the lymphatic system the most. The manual lymphatic drainage helps to redirect lymphatic drainage through alternative routes not affected by the surgery and to reduce inflammation of the abdomen.

Facelift and blepharoplasty:
After a facelift and blepharoplasty intervention the superficial lymphatic system is damaged. Manual lymphatic drainage accelerates absorption of edema and recovery time.

Other interventions also benefit from manual lymphatic drainage, such as reduction mammoplasty, mastopexy, the augmentation mammoplasty, and in general, all aesthetic surgeries.

Radiofrequency

The induction of local hyperthermia by means of radiofrequency produces an increase in local blood flow, acting on ion exchange and the electric potential by increasing cellular biostimulation. This improves the lymphatic drainage and accelerates the recovery and healing of damaged tissue.
